LARA KUSZTRICH

VIOLIN

is a member of the primary violin section of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, the Vienna State Opera Orchestra and the Vienna Court Orchestra. In addition to her work as an orchestral musician, the Vienna-born violinist and multiple prize winner also performs as a soloist and frequently in various chamber music ensembles such as Philharmonic Five or La Philharmonica. The young violinist plays on a violin by Vincenzo Ventapane, on loan from the OeNB.

Adela Frăsineanu-Morrison

Violin

is the principal second violin in the orchestra of the Vienna State Opera and the Vienna Philharmonic. She is an enthusiastic chamber musician and performs regularly with various ensembles. A multiple international competition winner, she also has a strong commitment to youth and served as the director of the Vienna Philharmonic’s Summer Academy. She plays a violin made by Lorenzo Ventapane Naples around 1830.

URSULA WEX

Cello

has been a cellist in the Vienna State Opera Orchestra since 2003 and a member of the Vienna Philharmonic since 2011. The musical promotion of young people is very important to her. She has run a private music school in Vienna since 2010 and initiated the Vienna Philharmonic's “phil_music” youth concerts in 2023, which she organizes and designs.

URSULA RUPPE

Viola

was the first woman (apart from the harpists) to win an audition with the Vienna Philharmonic in 2001. In addition to her work as an orchestral musician, she regularly performs with renowned chamber music partners.

ANDREA GÖTSCH

Clarinet

The clarinettist from South Tyrol is a member of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and currently also sits on its committee. She is also a multiple prizewinner of various national and international competitions, performs both as a soloist and in various chamber music constellations (including with the “Divinerinnen”, with “Clarinet & Strings Vienna” and as a duo with pianist Eduard Kutrowatz) and teaches orchestral literature at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. She is also active as a composer and conductor.

SOPHIE DERVAUX

Bassoon

is principal bassoonist with the Vienna Philharmonic. She was previously contrabassoonist with the Berlin Philharmonic. A winner of numerous international competitions, including the ARD competition, she has performed worldwide as a soloist with over 50 professional orchestras. She has also appeared on stage as a conductor for several years. She teaches at the Private University of the City of Vienna and regularly records solo albums for Berlin Classics.
